Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty This warranty applies for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first. It covers your car against any defect in workmanship or materials. The warranty also covers your tires in the event of a defect, but does not include normal wear and tear. It also covers towing costs to your nearest authorized dealership. The warranty doesn't cover routine maintenance or damage from accidents. Powertrain Warranty This warranty focuses on your engine, transmission, and powertrain. It covers these components for the first five years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. It protects you against defects in workmanship or materials. Again, the warranty doesn't apply to maintenance or accidental damage. Some items like hoses, wiring, and sensors are excluded from coverage. Corrosion Protection This warranty protects against rust through on all body and sheet metal on your vehicle. It applies for the first six years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Corrosion Protection This warranty protects you against any corrosion on the body or sheet metal for the first three years or 36,000 miles. Extension Options There are three different plans to add extra protection for your GMC. These are the powertrain warranty, the silver warranty, and the platinum warranty. We'll look at each of them in turn. Powertrain Warranty This warranty covers your engine, transmission, drivetrain, and hybrid/EV systems. Silver Protection Plan This warranty includes everything covered by the powertrain warranty and adds protection for climate control, front suspension, rear suspension, and your electrical, braking, and steering systems. Platinum Protection Plan This is the most comprehensive plan and includes everything in the silver plan and adds your audio, high-tech, and navigation systems. It includes coverage of over 1,500 parts. The extended protection plans also include roadside assistance, rental car coverage, and trip interruption. You can choose extensions from two years or 24,000 miles to five years or 60,000 miles. The 2023 Buick Envision is the latest version of this very popular crossover SUV, the first generation of which debuted in the US in 2016. This year there is an option for every budget as there are three trim levels to choose from: the Preferred, Essence, and Avenir. Let's dive in and discover some of the main features of the various trim levels. Trim Levels of the 2023 Buick Envision Preferred This is the baseline trim, and it's powered by a 2.0L Turbo ECOTEC 4-cyl engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and FWD. The same engine and transmission are used on the other two trims, and provide 228HP and 258 lb of torque. The engine is auto stop/start capable, and has an option to switch off this facility. All-season blackwall tires with 18"aluminum wheels are standard, together with a StabiliTrak stability control system for enhanced control. The infotainment system features an 8" diagonal color touchscreen, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a WiFi hotspot. The seating is furnished in high-quality cloth with leather accents. The driver seat is 8-way powered, and the front passenger seat is 6-way manual. Essence This trim includes everything in the Preferred trim and adds more. The infotainment system is upgraded to a 10.2" diagonal color touchscreen, and AM/FM radio, Bluetooth music streaming, and USB ports are installed. The front driver and passenger seats are heated and have three levels of warmth. The speaker system is upgraded to a 7-speaker audio system with an amplifier, and you receive a 3-month SiriusXM platinum subscription. The front passenger seat is upgraded to an 8-way powered edition to match the driver's seat. The two front seats also feature memory settings.  An air quality sensor system is installed for enhanced air quality, and a hands-free power programmable liftgate with LED projection is installed at the rear.  An additional exterior enhancement is the 18" machined aluminum wheels with a light silver metallic finish. Avenir This is the highest trim level. It includes everything from the Essense trim and adds additional enhancements. The sound system gets a boost with an upgrade to a 9-speaker Bose audio system, and an HD radio is also installed. The heated front seats now feature a ventilation system with three fan levels. The outboard rear seats are upgraded to heated with three levels of warmth. Dual-zone automatic climate control is added to the two front seats. A panoramic moonroof with a power sunshade now stretches across the roof. Additional safety features include an HD surround vision camera system, which includes a digital overhead of the area surrounding your car. Firing off 400 times per minute, spark plugs are extraordinarily busy car parts. While you're driving, your plugs ignite the fuel inside your engine's cylinders non-stop, working at this furious pace for years on end. But various issues eventually dirty the plugs, causing them to fail. Let's look at how long plugs usually last and also some common signs that you need to visit your local GMC dealer for new plugs right away. How Often Should You Change Your GMC or Buick's Spark Plugs? Copper and Nickel Plugs The most common plugs are made from copper or nickel. These usually last a good 30,000 to 50,000 miles before they need replacing. Check with the plug manufacturer to see how often they recommend replacements. But take their suggestion with a pinch of salt, as they're likely to recommend buying new plugs more often than necessary. Platinum and Iridium Plugs Higher-end plugs made from platinum or iridium have a much lengthier lifespan. They usually last around 100,000 miles and can even last as long as 150,000 miles. As these materials are far harder than copper or nickel, the plugs don't wear down as rapidly. They also run a good deal hotter, which helps burn away the deposits of excess fuel or fuel additives that tend to build up and foul plugs, causing their early demise. Replace When You Notice Plug Trouble When a plug starts to fail, it can lead to more costly problems in your engine and exhaust system. You'll avoid such trouble by looking out for the key signs of a failing plug and having it cleaned or replaced promptly. A bad plug causes its cylinder to misfire, which you'll experience as a stuttering, coughing, and juddering engine, especially when you pause in idle. If more than one plug fails, you might stall and even have trouble starting again. A misfiring engine loses power, so your acceleration will be sluggish, and you might find it difficult to cross intersections as quickly as you'd like. Your gas mileage will also drop, and if the problem persists for a while, you might even start to see black smoke pouring out of your exhaust. And finally, the check engine light on your dashboard will light up, prompting you to visit a technician. How a GMC Dealer Checks Your Plugs The number one cause of plug failure is contamination from dirt or excess fuel. So a technician will first clean the area around the plug, remove it, and check inside the socket for dirt or fuel deposits. They'll then visually examine the plug to see if it has been fouled, cracked, or burned up from age and overuse. They'll also test its functionality by having someone run the engine while they watch the plug for the strong blue sparks it should produce. They can also test the plug directly with a multimeter.
